Where the listings come from

Firms are indexed from public business listings. Every firm in the index handles foreclosure, creditor rights, bankruptcy, REO, title, or loan workouts — this is not a general legal directory with a filter applied. A firm does not pay to be indexed, and a firm cannot pay to be removed from the organic list.

Each firm is assigned to the county of its primary office. Firms practicing across several counties appear in search and matching for the counties they cover, but hold one canonical profile.

Ratings

Every rating shown on this site is a Google rating, shown with its review count, as published by Google at the time the page was built. We do not compute our own score, we do not adjust ratings, and firm lists are ordered by Google rating and review volume. That order is not for sale at any listing level.

Verification

Profiles begin unclaimed and are labelled that way. When a firm claims its profile, we confirm the bar license by email before anything the firm supplies is published, check that the claimant’s email domain matches the firm, and record the date the check was performed. Verification is a factual check — it cannot be bought, and paying for a listing level does not change it.

Listing levels and advertising

Three levels: Basic (free — firm name, location, procedure, focus, courts), Enhanced (adds bios, full practice description, direct contact, and a highlighted card), and Featured (one of three labelled positions at the top of a county page, plus inclusion in matched submissions).

• Featured Counsel is a paid placement available only to firms that satisfy published eligibility and verification requirements — a Google rating of 4.0 stars or higher and at least two years in practice.
• Payment does not affect a firm’s credentials, verification record, or position in the organic listings.
• Every county page carries exactly three Featured positions. The cap is structural. Once a waiting list forms, Featured turns cap at three months per firm with no consecutive turns.
• A matched submission from the quiz goes to a maximum of five firms. We do not recommend a firm, receive any part of a legal fee, or give legal advice.

Court information

Courthouse names, addresses, phone numbers, and hours are verified against the official judicial-branch source for each state — in Connecticut, the Judicial Branch’s own directions pages and its official town-by-town venue table for land matters, which govern where a foreclosure is heard. Each court entry links to the official page it was checked against.

Timeline data

Foreclosure timeline figures are drawn from the ATTOM U.S. Foreclosure Market Report and cited wherever they appear. They are averages, published for informational purposes only — they are not an indication of how long any individual foreclosure will take. Many factors change the timing of an individual foreclosure.

Corrections

If anything on a profile or a county page is wrong, use the contact form and say what should change. Firms can correct their own information at any time by claiming the profile — claiming is free.
